Smart Ambassador Training

The Smart Ambassador programme was a five-session training initiative designed to support town and county councils- particularly those working in digital, smart, or regeneration roles- in developing the knowledge and tools needed to drive smart, sustainable change in their communities.

Funded by the Welsh Government’s Smart Towns Programme and delivered by BABLE: Smart Cities, the programme attracted over 50 applications, with representatives from nearly every local authority in Wales taking part. The sessions covered key themes including citizen participation, smart implementation strategies, the digitisation of public space, climate-focused innovation, and data-led decision making.

Following completion of the course, ambassadors were encouraged to share their learning with local teams and businesses, and many have since applied these insights in practical ways. The following case studies highlight how the training has influenced local action across Wales...Case studies coming soon.
